Manila ministers quit in protest

Eight ministers in the Philippines have resigned, and called on President Gloria Arroyo to step down as well.

The move comes a day after Mrs Arroyo, who is under pressure over sleaze allegations, said she would not resign, while demanding her cabinet did so.

The finance, budget and trade secretaries were among those who tendered their resignation.

Meanwhile, army chief General Efren Abu has warned soldiers not to intervene in the political crisis.

2. The BBC spreading the spin on BushCo's latest regime change
BushCo needs a puppet in charge since the preparations to transfer Okinawa military operations to the Philippines are being expedited.

Wonder how long Arroyo will be able to hold on.
