4. Here's some photos I found of some more recent days.......
I found this link on a friend’s site... some very amazing photos at this link. Some are VERY beautiful and some are truly horrific.

These photos are worth seeing but some of them are of dead persons and/or dismembered body parts. I can't stress this enough, if you don't care to see the true images of war PLEASE pass this link by.

WARNING EXTREAMLY GRAPHIC PHOTOS: (especially several pages in)

They are some amazing photos... and you're VERY welcome!

You must have not flipped through enough pages... see the one titled "keep an eye out for the Americans" and something like "got a hole in my face", "dis my arm", "dis my skin", "damer buffet" etc. Pages 57-62 I believe. They would be extremely troubling for someone to stubble across.

There are a few more of a guy being ran over by a tank several times, looks like just for the hell of it, until his body is in shreads... with another photos of his decapitated head. Extremely graphic!

The captions are the most troubling part for me...

(Cation Graphic Text Below)

Those photos remind me of a story a Sergent told me right after I completed basic combat training... he said when he was in Iraq during the Gulf War, they cut off an Iraqis head and stuck it on the front of the hummer as a hood ornament, and drug his body from the rear of the hummer with a rope... they left the head on the hummer for a week until they couldn't handle the stink. He went on to tell me that they would drive thru random towns with it on the hummer "so they would think we were crazy and not mess with us".

War is hell! Glad I got out of the army instead of staying in for another 4 years to life, medical discharge due to a permanent foot injury (first I was mad, now I'm glad).

7. I've seen those photos you describe on other sites
no I did not see those photos... the ones I saw are all teh way to page 11 or so... and those are of troops and sunsets and flowers, which is the other side or war, troops trying to keep their sanity in the insanity that is war

8. I really enjoyed most of the pics...
The gruesome captions on some of them must be some type of attempt, by whoever posted them, to try to keep their sanity... kind of like fire fighters calling burnt bodies "crispy critters" and such.

I use to be in the military and worked in a state prison for a while and know some other terms and sayings that I will not post here.

11. And this is Liverpool Street too!
Liverpool Street and Bishopsgate were big IRA targets during that time. (City of London and all that).

12. I remember it well
The Bishopsgate Bomb is the only time I've been involved in a major incident (Thank goodness), and then our building was shielded by Liverpool Street Station, so we lost a couple of windows and had one sprain where some one was shaken off a ladder.

By the way I was meaning to post a message dedicated to you. Commiserations on loosing the first Match of the 2005/06 season ;-)

13. Can we have Kenwyne Jones back please?
:-)

I'll be happy if Wednesday just stay up personally. (that and beating Sheffield United and Leeds)

14. You'll have to ask Southhampton :-)
Given what has happened at Stoke in the last couple of weeks, I'd also settle for staying up, and as my wife is Leeds fan, also beating Leeds.

Are you going to the game? It may be the first one I have had the chance to go to for a while.

15. I won't be going to the Stoke game
And actually I'm a bit worried about that as I think you guys have started off very strongly in the past two seasons.

The games I'm looking to attend at the moment are against Coventry, Crystal Palace and Norwich City. Hopefully I'll be up in Sheffield to watch a few games over the Christmas period too.
