Iraq links London attacks to insurgency

The Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) — Islamic extremists have been using Iraq as a planning center for attacks around the world since losing Afghanistan as their base in 2001, the government's chief spokesman said Friday.

Speaking about Thursday's blasts in London that killed more than 50 people, Laith Kubba said "we don't know exactly who carried out these acts but it is clear that these networks used to be in Afghanistan and now they work in Iraq."

The spokesman said that insurgents in Iraq and those who carried out the London attacks "are from the same network. There are different groups in the world, but they all follow the same school."

Kubba was referring to hardline Muslim extremists who label people that don't agree with them as infidels.

2. Would insurgents operating out of their home country be "exsurgents"?
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 10:53 AM by slackmaster
:dunce:

Or just "surgents"? They're certainly not "gents".

12. Apparently, for Bush "There's No Time for 'Surgents'"
If he had made time and REALLY gone after his business pal Osama, rather than paying him lip service, then perhaps this whole disaster could have been avoided...

6. Huh?
Insurgent attacks in Iraq have killed thousands since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in April 2003.

I wonder if they cackle demonically when they're writing this crap.

7. My sentiments exactly
Here's another:
Islamic extremists have been using Iraq as a planning center for attacks around the world since losing Afghanistan as their base in 2001, the government's chief spokesman said Friday.

Surely they must mean 'since the US invaded Iraq'?
Hussein hated the guts of Islamic extremists - they interfered with his lifestyle.

This paragraph is a lie.

10. this statement proves BUSH responsible for current terrorists!!
..."since losing afghanistan as their base in 2002..." - because of bush

"...using Iraq as a planning center for attacks around the world..."
-because of BUSH: sadaam would never let terrorists use Iraq as base because that would threaten sadaam!

Since BUSH is responsible for driving these terrorists out of afghanistan, and because BUSH is responsible for invading Iraq and removing sadaam, who was the anti-terrorist (at least the al queda kind),and because Bush's war has made it possible for terrorists to operate in Iraq,

therefore: Bush is responsible for all the following outcomes.

11. We don't know who did it, but they're from Iraq.
And we know exactly where they are... in the East, the North, and the West and South around Baghdad somewhere.

15. Even Bush** says the terrorists came in with the insurgency
which got into gear in late '03, not 2001.

Do you doubt that the Iraqi* government is a cat's paw for the Bush**co/PNAC occupation? I don't. Certainly not after reading this.

16. Wow! Another coincidence
The coincidences keep piling up past the point of the meaning of a coincidence. It works perfectly, because now, after all the lies, we finally found a reason for being in Iraq.
