OUR soldiers begging their families in the small Colorado town of Salida to send food, medical supplies, even windex and paper towels to clean their vehicle windows....begging for flea collars to keep the bugs off their ankles...how much more patheticly will shrub treat our troops????...while Haliburton makes billions, there is no toilet paper, soap or toothpaste for OUR troops...or even sunglasses/sunblock...or simple first aid like aspirin and eye drops....

Sgt. Barett “Bear” McNabb has been describing the conditions in Iraq in letters to his wife, Georgette, and his mother, Georgia McNabb of Salida. “The men need a lot of things that we would consider necessities,” Georgia said. “Bear’s wife and I have been sending items which he has shared with his men, but the need and the expense is so great we have decided to “go public” and ask for help.
They need the most basic things which the Army is not providing.” Items needed include AA batteries,
sunblock, Chapstick and personal products such as
toothpaste, Gold Bond powders,
aspirin, ibuprofen , shampoo, lotion,
body soap, shaving cream, disposable razors and
toilet paper.Cheap, wrap-around
sunglasses, like those from dollar stores, are needed. The cheap ones are best because they become scratched from the sand. They also need
eye drops because there are lots of sand and eye irritations. Beef jerky is a treat, as are hard candies and other foods that won’t melt in extreme heat.
The men were requesting flea collars to wear on their ankles to keep the sand fleas at bay.....Coffee, coffee filters, powdered creamer, sugar packets, sauce packets of all kinds (from fast food places), powdered drinks,
duct tape, Ziplock bags, hand sanitizer, Windex and paper towels,....
