If, as reported, they were truly British citizens committing a terrorist act on British soil, Britain must go to Security Council and ask permission to go to war against its own country.

Police entered the unoccupied house in a search for explosives and other evidence, authorities said. As many as 600 people were evacuated from the neighborhood of row houses in the city 185 miles north of London.

How do Pakistanis get high explosives, happen to be smart enough to get information that there is a military exercise on that particular day, that just happens to be the first day of the G8 conference - they, plant these military high explosive bombs that are set to go off by radio or timers, but are dumb enough to blow themselves up.

12. How they got the explosives is a good question

but it has always been likely these were 'military-grade' explosives (things like dynamite are just about as highly controlled in the UK as any explosive, however powerful). I haven't the faintest idea if there's a black market in them in the UK (they don't often turn up in crimes, so it can't be big, anyway), but there have been enough wars where explosives could go missing (Iraq being one where we know lots went from the unguarded arms dumps), as well as stock left over from places like Czechoslovakia, that it would mainly be a question of smuggling them in to the UK from wherever they originated.

There was no 'military exercise'; I suspect you're thinking of the company exercise run by Mr. Power (which is his regular job). Those kind of exercises are common in large companies. Yes, that was a coincidence. Just like the book that was due to launch on Thursday, about a terrorist bomb (I think in London) - they had to cancel the launch.

They may well have aimed for the G8 conference. As well as extra news impact, it may have meant police attention was more up at Gleneagles.

There was talk of bomb timers earlier; I certainly hope we get an explanation if that was a misdirection on purpose (remember, they arrested one man today; perhaps they wanted him to feel safe until they were ready to move), incompetence, wild speculation by someone ont in the know, or what.

that this reads like a fall-guy setup and i couldn't agree more. Granted this whole investigation is flying along at a pace unthinkable here in the US (esp. for such a public investigation), but take into account the information that has been leaking over the past 24 hrs and ask yourself: "so wait... these guys had military grade explosives and perhaps training, but didn't think to take their wallets out of their pockets? wait.. and this all stipulates that they died accidentally?"
