Italy has no intention to introduce special anti-terrorism laws: minister
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2005-07/13/content_3211916.htm

ROME, July 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Italian Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu told parliament on Tuesday that the government had no intention of introducing special anti-terrorism laws after the bombings in London.

Pisanu said the security measures which greatly disrupted normal life were out of the question because such an approach would only play into the hands of terrorists.

Pisanu admitted, however, that he saw the risk of terrorist action in Italy as a real one, even though there was no precise evidence pointing to imminent attacks.

<...>

While ruling out specific legislation to combat the threat, theinterior minister said modifications could be made to existing lawin order to help authorities act more efficiently.

1. Why are Americans the only people
willing to give up freedom and liberty to have the government hold their hands?

2. Because we've yet to live under true fascist rule
Germany has.
Italy has.
England certainly experienced the brunt of fascist aggression.

3. Because we've become intellectually lazy.
Most people in the U.S. have no idea of the potential danger to their own liberty from laws such as the Patriot Act, Real-ID, etc.

They really don't have a clue!

Media has also failed the American people.

6. 'Terror' laws have been passed in many countries.
Italy is more the exception than the rule.

5. Is it at all realistic to make a connection....
between the Italians going after those CIA agents and possible terrorist attacks in Italy?

I really think we need to start making these connections, hold them out as possibilities at the very least. After all, it was the CIA who was behind Allende in Chile, among others.
