Army study finds troops are stretched thin

WASHINGTON A new study finds that if troops remain deployed at current levels, the Army will have serious problems keeping enough soldiers trained and ready.

The study was prepared by the non-profit RAND corporation.

Pentagon officials have said they're adding an extra 30-thousand troops to the active-duty force.

Some members of Congress have argued for months that the Army needs to get bigger.

Florida Democratic Senator Bill Nelson says "the Army is being asked to do too much with too few people in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere."

4. There are always the cloning bases on the planet Kamino
YOu have to get the troops from somewhere, and the Kaminoians say that it will take 10 years to grow new stormtroopers, so let's get to work.

5. Is this their way of asking for a draft?
"The study was prepared by the non-profit RAND corporation" Does this mean that the study was free?

8. Yeah, a war with no end game
to "democratize" the whole middle east will require a little more than we are commiting.

9. I think I have super powers!
who will believe me? Somehow I knew
we did not have enough soldiers for a phony war...! I'm a frigging savant!
I also knew we were being lied to before the war. I knew
that facts were being changed to fit the rush to war and
that bombing Iraq would kill thousands of innocent people and make more enemies than we could dream of. I could charge thousands for my powers and save the government money too!
No wait, I didn't know my democratic party would wag their tales and play fetch for the dubya for five years. Oh yeah, I didn't foresee the press selling out to the 4th Reich. Oh, and I didn't foresee Katie Couric as an MSM suck up. No, wait, I knew that a decade ago. Crap. I was all ready to wear a cape too. I think I will anyway.

10. that's what comes from wars of occupation
and it won't change as long as such (illegal) invasions are considered a viable military option

Terrorism is a crime...not an act of war.
