Car bombs on Iraqi patrols kill 6, wound 23

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Bombs on two Iraqi military patrols in different parts of Baghdad killed six people and wounded 23 within minutes of each other, a police source said.


Iraq's al Qaeda claimed responsibility for both attacks in Internet statements.

The first struck in northern Baghdad, killing six and wounding 15, the source said, requesting anonymity. Vehicles were destroyed and bodies charred making it difficult to identify whether they were troops or civilians.

The second bomb struck near Andalus square in the town center, wounding five soldiers and three civilians, he said.

2. There is nothing we can salvage in Iraq. Nothing. We've (and I only

mean the bush** administration, not dems) totally screwed up that country and set every faction at each other's throats, as well as having them fighting us.

Maybe the death count isn't a big as Viet Nam was, but I think the ramifications for Iraq, for the US, and for the world are far greater than they were during that war. This isn't just one country fighting an occupation force. This is two rabid ideologies supported by fanatics on both sides who don't give a damn that it's always the innocents that suffer the worst. All they want is war and revenge.
