Thousands gather at Trinity Test site for 60th anniversary
http://www.kvia.com/Global/story.asp?S=3602718

WHITE SANDS MISSLE RANGE, N.M. Emmett Hatch says he and his grandmother thought the first atomic blast 60 years ago today was the end of the world.

He was eight years old and 220 miles from the Trinity test site on July 16th, 1945.

Hatch joined thousands of others at Trinity Site today at White Sands Missile Range to mark the 60th anniversary of the first atomic blast.

1. Many of the atomic scientists opposed using the atomic bomb
on Japan who they saw as already defeated. They also feared the Government's plans for atomic weapons. They pointed out that the Oak Ridge facility was capable of producing enough plutonium to build thousands of atomic bombs. They wondered if the US was planning to use atomic weapons to blackmail the postwar world.

2. Its worth visiting the site
Its only open at certain times a year, but it is the seat of the
american claim to being a superpower. In that sense, it is the very
center nexus of all american power, since goodwill and moral authority
are degenerate at best.

That is, all that remains of US power, is the threat to mass murder
100 millions people with WMD's. And to see this, you need merely
drive up route 25 from las cruces to Albuquerque, and on your right,
in the distant desert is the trinity site.

The mountains around the site, who were all witness to the criminal
WMD test itself, know the truth. As texas asserts its politics
and seeks to take over control of the new mexico los alamos lab
from UC... it is a final gesture to show that the new crimina junta
has usurped the WMD's and plans to use them to assert what is all
but a lost sense of superpower penis implants.
