SANTA CRUZ - Hundreds of fired-up pot smokers and their supporters marched in Santa Cruz Saturday to protest the federal government's blows against medicinal marijuana.

The rally was organized by the Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana.

The protesters, some in wheelchairs and hoisting pot plants, were joined by five of seven city council members and Santa Cruz County Supervisor Mardi Wormhoudt. <snip>

2. Why can't our government leave the sick pot smokers alone?

It's some pretty fucked up politics to go after sick people - especially for something as silly as weed. Seems like the "war on drugs" is about as lame as the "war on terror". I think Republicans just like to declare "war" on anyone who isn't like them. :eyes:
