Iraq-Iran pipeline to be built soon:-

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said Monday construction would begin soon on an oil pipeline between Iran and Iraq.

He said the pipeline, which is being built under an agreement signed ten months ago, should be operational by the middle of next year, the Iranian News Agency reported.

The pipeline will link oil fields in Basra in southern Iraq to a refinery in Abadan in Iran. It will carry 150,000 barrels a day to the refinery and receive in return 50 million liters (13.21 million U.S. gallons) of oil products including gasoline and kerosene.

The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding Sunday, putting in place all the details of the agreement.

1. That is oil that WON'T be going to mercun refineries!
Iraq and Iran are certainly solidifying relations and have ** to thank for throwing them into each other's arms! The US policy of divide Iraq and Iran in order to conquer the region is slipping.

3. It will be interesting to see who bombs that pipeline the most....
...the Iraqi insurgency, or U. S. planes.

4. I was thinking the same thing, although more between Iraq and Iran
How stable is any agreement between the two countries? Or will bombings of the pipeline by "Iranian-sponsored terrorists" eventually be an excuse for us to invade Iran, to protect our newly liberated Iraqi friends' oil supply?
