1. My most sincere condolences to his family.
This is someone who allows themselves to be treated in the most horrific manner so that we don't have to be treated this way. That is what a soldier does. They protect our country from threats. They allow themselves to be sacrificed so that you and I can be free and live in peace.

3. STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!
I haven't posted on the deaths of so many - my heart breaks with each and every one - I just can't stand it any more.

Thanks leftchick, for having so much more strength in dealing with this than I.

5. What's a nonhostile incident?
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 03:25 PM by MountainLaurel
Suicide? Accidentally flicked a cigarette butt into a munitions pile (as my granddad did in WWII)? Bludgeoned by some Iraqi who caught him trying to rape his wife?

10. Could literally be anything.
He could have been hit by a hummer as he crossed the road. He could have tripped on a rock while on patrol and banged his head. His rifle might have accidentally gone off while cleaning it. He could have fallen off a ladder. He could have had a "Hold muh beer" moment. He might have even offed himself.

Right now there's no way to know.

6. 1,961 Coalition soldiers have died

We are 39 away from the sad, sad statistic of 2000 total Coalition soldiers dead in this travesty.
