U.S. administrator vows to hunt down planners of Baghdad bombing
U.S. administrator vows to hunt down planners of Baghdad bombing
By Tarek Al-Issawi, Associated Press, 10/13/2003 04:18

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) The American administrator in Iraq vowed to hunt down those responsible for a car bomb attack that shook central Baghdad, killing at least six bystanders and wounding dozens of others.

The attack outside the Baghdad Hotel on Sunday was the seventh fatal vehicle bombing in Iraq since early August. The bombings have killed more than 140 people.

''We will work with the Iraqi police to find those responsible and bring them to justice,'' Iraq's U.S. civilian administrator, L. Paul Bremer, said after Sunday's bombing. So far, none of the planners of the previous bombings has been found.

7. Rest assured fellow Americans,
We will hunt them down, we will smoke them out. We will bring them to justice.

But we do have to put our priorites straight. The oil comes first.

11. They are not going to find anyone.....
they have failed to find "Osama been forgotten"
and we don't even hear the name "Saddam" anymore.

What a failing bunch of "empty pledges" this AWOL
regime is!

We are broke, the world hates us and our constitution
is being dismantled. The only leadership we have is
"a dismal failure!"

to terrorize more Iraqi civilians and mow down their palm and fruit trees?

It's all part of the PNAC plan to get rid of as many brown people as possible.

Thunder From Iraq Bombers, Probes Silent
CHARLES J. HANLEY
Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The crack of rifle fire, the double thunder of explosions: In an instant, another bloody message was delivered against the U.S. occupation in Iraq.

The car bombings have come with numbing regularity, seven now since early August, all unsolved, killing more than 140 people. The mysterious attacks have stretched from Irbil in the north to Najaf in the south, but this time they struck right in the traffic-choked center of Baghdad, and in close earshot of journalists at a hotel a quarter-mile away.

Rushing toward the billowing black smoke at midday Sunday, they found the driver of a passing car, its windows blown out. What happened? they asked.

The crewcut man, ragged and thin, looked up, opened his mouth, then dropped his head on the steering wheel and sobbed. "I'm afraid," a shaken passenger said. "I'm afraid the Wahhabis will come after me if I talk about what I saw."

18. Those poor people...
We are destroying their country, and then punishing them if they don't provide us with the information we want. They face reprisals from the resistance fighters if they help us. What more are we going to inflict on them?

Folks, we just HAVE to get Bush voted out next year. He is dangerously deranged, I think, and causing entirely too much misery to the entire planet.

17. Wow that was quick ...
usually it takes a few weeks to get these criminals out to Crawford and the pig farm. I am assuming that's where they are once Bush (and his minions) declares that they will get them evil doers.

Cheers
Drifter

22. Witch Hunts!
Since they are so concerned about getting out the message that the coalition is tough, no doubt they are going overboard in their arrests. This will only fuel further anger and start to make the coalition look as ruthless as Saddam.
I suppose the only difference is that Saddam systematically murdered most of his foes. We don't do that. But we do hold them indefinitely without the right to counsel which is not very popular either.
I'm sure over half of the arrests are innocent civilians.
