Bush: "go on offensive" best way to protect US

www.chinaview.cn 2005-07-21 01:23:27

WASHINGTON, July 20 (Xinhuanet) -- US President George W. Bush on Wednesday told the public that the best way to protect the US homeland is to "go on offensive."

"I want you to remember, as we work to secure the homeland, we have to be right 100 percent of the time, and the enemy only has to be right one time," Bush said during a televised speech delivered in the Port of Baltimore, Maryland.

"Therefore, the best way to protect the homeland is to go on the offensive, is to find these people in foreign lands and bring them to justice before they come here to hurt us," he said.

To that end, Bush said, the US government is adopting a two-pronged strategy, including intelligence-sharing with allies and hunting for terrorists around the world.

who might someday sting us. Then we must whack the nest with a stick until they are all dead.

Great thinking, George.

1. Conspiracy to commit crimes against peace
2. Planning, initiating and waging wars of aggression
3. War-Crimes
4. Crimes against humanity

Bu$h is certainly two-for-four (#1 & #2), if not four-for-four, right now.

there would be an underlying assumption in my statement that we would go on the offensive AGAINST THOSE WHO ARE A THREAT TO US, not just randomly be on the offensive.

The swagger is sickening.

Too bad Ninny-boy just doesn't have enough legions to trample everyone who's got it coming to 'em; it must keep him in a smoldering rage.

This also sounds like coded hints at an operation in Syria, but that's just me...

22. When I played football, the best offensive was giving our playbook...
...to the other team.

Now, I know that sounds silly, but that's what Bush did when he exposed Plame.

What a stupid shit. Did he really think his sixth-grade bullying tactics would work on grownups in international affairs?

intelligence sharing with "allies" and hunting for terrorists around the world?

Even fromthe "official" report of 9/11 15 of the 19 "hijackers" were Saudis.

We don't seem to be "hunting for terrorists" there so I guess they're allies?

30. Candid assessments of the coming denouement in Iraq
...draw bully pulpit counterpropaganda. Organizationally, the Army can carry this on for 12 to 18 months more tops. As Col. Cordesman, who is a conservative military analyst says, "they're eating the seedcorn."

32. Bush went on the offensive during Vietnam.
Straight to a champagne unit with obsolete planes. Couldn't even maintain flight status and refused to take a flight physical.

Now he wants to wage neverending war with YOU AND YOUR KIDS. The ruling elite will never bear the suffering of fighting "on the offensive." That is for the serfs.
