PM says US invasion of Iraq a mistake
Washington: In a candid submission made on the American soil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the 2003 US invasion of Iraq was a ''mistake''.

Answering questions after his address at the National Press Club here, he said, ''it was our sincere view that it (invasion of Iraq) was a mistake but it is now a thing of the past and we must look to the future.''

Singh said India would like democratic institutions to take deeper roots in Iraq and New Delhi believed it had a contribution to make in this effort. The Prime Minister said he had written to his Iraqi counterpart immediately after the latter's elections that India would like to work with the government and render assistance in the reconstruction work and the economic development of the war-torn country.

Singh is perhaps the first foreign leader to criticise the US invasion of Iraq while being in Washington. His statement drew a thunderous applause from senior American journalist.

14. I said that with tongue firmly planted in cheek. I was personally

amazed, I am certain my jaw dropped open, when I read that Bush wanted to share our nuclear technology with India. I thought we were suppossed to be reducing WMDS, not creatig them. Even though the plan is for electricity production one would have to be totally delusional to think that creating more and more powerful weapons wouldn't be the logical next step.

Not too many years ago,under Reagan and Poppy, we were selling conventional and biological weapons to our buddy Saddam.How quickly our allies can become our enemies.

Whatever happened to the idea of nuclear disarmament? Nowadays, people think of a nuke as if it was a firecracker you throw off the back deck on the 4th of July, instead of a weapon that can destroy not only people, but the earth.

bush comes to india on a state visit and is impressed by the intelligence of our President APJ Kalam, who is also a popular scientist and missile engineer. So he asks Kalam -
"How come your so intelligent excelantcy?"
Kalam says -
"Dubya, that's because I surround myself with intelligent people."
"How so?"
"Let me demonstrate by asking you a question - Your parents have three children. One is your brother and one your sister. Who is the third?"
Bush hems and haws and gives up.
Kalam calls Manmohan Singh over and asks him the same question. The PM smiles and says - "Its me of course."
Impressed by the intelligence surrounding the Indian president, Bush goes back to Washington DC and summons Condi Rice.
"Condi, those Indians are so darn smart. I want smart folks around me too. Answer this question - Your parents have three children. One is your brother and one your sister. Who is the third?"
Condi is stumped, and quickly excuses herself to go to the loo. On her way, she meets Dick Cheney and asks him the question. Dick growls - "Its me you stupid mama."
Condi rushes back to Bush and says - "I know the answer husb... sir! Its Dick Cheney!"
Bush slaps his forehead in disgust! "No wonder the world calls me dumb. I'm surrounded by fools out here! No its NOT dick cheney you moran! It's Manmohan Singh!"
