GOP Congressman Supports Troop Withdrawal Timetable
Maryland's Gilchrest Calls On Withdrawal To Begin In 14 Months

OCEAN CITY, Md. -- A Maryland Congressman has broken ranks with the president and the Congressional Republican leadership over Iraqi troop withdrawal.

Rep. Wayne Gilchrest, R-District 1, is supporting a Congressional resolution calling for the start of American troop withdrawals from Iraq by October 2006.

President George W. Bush has repeatedly said that setting a timetable for withdrawals could embolden enemy forces.

But Gilchrest said an announced withdrawal beginning 14 months from now would not be a sign of weakness or a concession to Iraqi insurgents.

7. All Congressman are up for re-election
All congresscritters have to run for re-election every two years since their terms are only 2 years long. What's more important is that he is presenting the trial balloon to help out the other repugs since they are starting to get calls from the restless natives (i.e., their constiuents)

6. Are you going to contact him to let him know that
his recent conversion does not mean that you'll vote for him?

4. 14 months!
How brave of Wayne to speak out and "break ranks" like this. I guess he'll also be helping out in the interim by encouraging all his friends and relatives of enlistment age to sign-up and ship out for Iraqnam.

May I quote a younger and more courageous John Kerry: "Who will be the last man to die for a mistake?".

Bring them Home NOW!

5. Just one question
"President George W. Bush has repeatedly said that setting a timetable for withdrawals could embolden enemy forces"

If there not "embolden" enough right now...what do you call all those car bombs and killings?

We wouldn't want to change a thing right now...seeing as how good its going over there and all...We all know what the definition of insanity is..too bad some out there don't
