Three U.S. Soldiers Killed in 24-Hour Period

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi guerrillas ambushed a U.S. military convoy northeast of Baghdad Monday killing one American soldier and wounding two others, the U.S. military said. The death brought to 97 the number of U.S. soldiers killed by hostile fire since President Bush (news - web sites) declared major combat over on May 1. The soldier was the third to be killed within 24 hours.

4. Why is this figure of 97 the official number?

NPR said the same thing this morning - "total of 97 American soldiers killed in combat since May 1st". This is a shameful deception of the public and the real numbers are out there just staring these lying whores in the face!

11. I think this 97 is wrong I think it was ~85 a month ago

and then they stopped mentioning it and then they started again.

They have tried everything to keep the numbers low
First it was total deaths
Then it was combat deaths
Then the Chickenhawk landed and they thought it would be the end of it

Then our guys and girls kept dying
Then they reported the total number of deaths
When that kept climbing they started reporting on "combat deaths" in total
When that got to high we started hearing "combat deaths since the PRESIDENT declared...."

Then they didn't report it at all.

Then they only reported attacks were there were deaths, immediate deaths not at the hospital or on the way to Germany.

Then they picked up again.

Last week I heard NBC say that there had been 860 injures since may 1... they tried that for a while but even that didn't do.

The are running out of ways to cover for the problem they helped create TWICE!

Are other, higher numbers of US dead being reported? I'm asking seriously. I know they're vastly under-reporting the number of wounded and sick, but 97 is consistent with the numbers I have been hearing since May 1st.

21. I was going to but they want to ship my son out Oct 24

I want to be with him if he is forced to go. I dont want to miss one day with him..I was at the last 2 marches in DC (I was even at the Bush inaugaration protest)...before this stupid invasion...
Right now we are on the phone daily with Levins office, as is my son, and many other people talking to their military advisor in DC...
IF he or any of his unit has to go , it would be Oct 24...
Otherwise YES I would be in DC in a heartbeat. I just want to be with him now.

and my son called and faxed and talked to the military advisor there..Its all we can do
If they send the units overseas, which they have just ordered to many of the men who were SUPPOSED to be discharged (served their time), such as my son who has served his time, and they put a StopLock on him..well...
anyway thanks...so much..I just pray everyday he gets his discharge, which he was supposed to GET in Oct...and they lied and now they wont give it to him.
My son said tonight:
"Mom, they are DRAFTING US by using a StopLock program...ever so subtly DRAFTING all of us and forcing us to stay in, even tho we served our time.."
He is right.
