Jeanine Pirro has a lot of work to do if she wants to take on Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).
The Westchester district attorney, who is considering running against Clinton next year, trails badly in a hypothetical matchup: The Siena College poll has Clinton ahead, 57% to 31%.

The survey had a teaspoon of good news for Gov. Pataki, showing his approval rating has inched up to 52%, its highest point over the past six months. However, Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, a Democrat seeking to become New York's next governor, still led Pataki, 49% to 37%, the survey found.
The poll of 620 registered voters has a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
