UK boy wrongly labelled as bomber (London bus bomb, 7/7/05)
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 11:53 AM by underthedome
Evidence showing that all three of the London bombers of Pakistani descent visited Pakistan last year has been thrown into doubt.

A photograph of a passport purporting to show bomber Hasib Hussain was in fact that of a 16-year-old British boy with the same name.

The photo, together with documentation showing two other bombers visited Pakistan, was released on Monday.

Pakistan, meanwhile, says it has made no arrests over the London bombs.

'I was terrified'

The passport details supposedly of the bomber Hasib Hussain are actually those of a teenage boy living in High Wycombe, approximately 30 miles (50km) north-west of London.

Passport details of the innocent Hasib Hussain

On Monday Pakistan's Federal Immigration Authority (FIA) said that Hasib Hussain, carrying British passport number 300514155, arrived in the port city of Karachi from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on 15 July 2004.

However, the 16-year-old at the heart of the confusion has now been interviewed at his High Wycombe home by Pakistani TV station ARY.

"I first saw my photograph on Channel 4 and I was terrified," the boy told ARY.

"I didn't want people looking at me saying, hey, you are supposed to be dead," he told ARY, "or someone saying that there goes the London bomber."

His father told ARY that the family had indeed arrived in Karachi from Saudi Arabia. He appealed for British and Pakistani authorities to clear up the confusion.

When contacted by the BBC News website the FIA said: "We have nothing to say on the matter at this stage."

Reports denied

According to the other information released by Pakistan on Monday, the bombers Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer arrived and left Pakistan together and spent three months in the country.

The bomber Hasib Hussain

The three bombers were among the 56 people killed in the London blasts.

Police have confirmed they were the UK's first suicide bombings.

The fourth bomber was a Jamaican-born Briton, Germaine Lindsay, 19.

More than 200 people in Pakistan have been arrested in recent days in a clampdown called by President Pervez Musharraf.

But the authorities are denying reports that a British Muslim al-Qaeda suspect, Haroon Rashid Aswad, is among them.

6. Asian means Pakistani or Indian in England
Just a cultural difference.

While someone might refer to a Korean, for example, as Asian, most Brits would refer to an Indian as "Asian" as well, something you usualy don't see in the States.

5. It just goes to show, evidence not subject to cross-examination
Isn't really very trustworthy, no matter how good it seems at first glance.

7. OK, i will probably get in trouble here for thinking out loud here BUT
Isn't it about time that someone really looked into the messed up intel both here and in the UK? I'm talking about the intel that supposedly identifies the 9/11 highjackers as well as all the alleged "terrorists" since 9/11 including the recent UK bombings.

think about it. Fake intel about Niger, WMD, Osama, Al-Zarbarwi, and now the UK bombings. (I probably forgot about several other bad intel ops). Now I heard a caller on C-Span this morning asking about why the MSM totally ignores the reports and the FBI investigation into the hand-slapping young men who were seen and reported on 9/11 (you can google for more info). They were reported by several witnesses on 9/11 because they were of middle-eastern profile and they were seen high-fiving after the attacks on the WTC. Subsequently they were identified as Israelis and deported. The same caller read from an Israeli newspaper that some communication company (Israeli owned and operated) in the US received a warning two hours BEFORE the 9/11 attacks. This was reported in Haaretz (sp) and supposedly investigated by the FBI...no big splash in the US MSM however. Then there the WMD intel now turned out to be fake as well as the Niger intel. We are getting bad intel from somewhere. Plus, a number of the 9/11 alleged attackers have turned out not to be who we said they were in the first place. Then there is the story reported in the Austrailian newspaper about a ring of Israeli operatives who were manufacturing fake passports and IDs and they were subsequently deported back to Israel. Now all of this stuff taken together has to start someone in our government to asking questions about these events. Yet, as another caller to C-Span pointed out to Rep. Conyers, no one in Congress or anywhere else mentions this stuff and they dare not question our policies toward Israel -- eventhough our policies supporting Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory has been cited over and over again as reasons for the attacks against the US and western allies. Yet the meida will discuss all sorts of unproven and even later proved false information about Muslims or people who are supposed to be "terrorists" and later turn out not to be so.

With our children being killed everyday in Iraq and our social safety net in tatters because of the war on terrorists, don't you think someone should be asking questions about the US policy towards Israel? Why is that anti-Semitic? If it were any other country that we were giving so much aid to there would be some deep digging going on.

Conyers' response to the caller about this makes me know for certain how powerful and how much influence AIPAC has on our foreign policy. If the questions aren't asked now and addressed in a straigtforward way, i predict that it could lead to real anti-Semitic backlash in this country which I would really hate to see. We don't need to so filled with hate of the 50's and 60's. I fear for my children.

9. reminds of the 9/11 hijackers that are alive and well
Hijack 'suspects' alive and well

Sunday, 23 September, 2001, 12:30 GMT 13:30 UK

Another of the men named by the FBI as a hijacker in the suicide attacks on Washington and New York has turned up alive and well.

The identities of four of the 19 suspects accused of having carried out the attacks are now in doubt.

Saudi Arabian pilot Waleed Al Shehri was one of five men that the FBI said had deliberately crashed American Airlines flight 11 into the World Trade Centre on 11 September.

His photograph was released, and has since appeared in newspapers and on television around the world.

Now he is protesting his innocence from Casablanca, Morocco.

He told journalists there that he had nothing to do with the attacks on New York and Washington, and had been in Morocco when they happened. He has contacted both the Saudi and American authorities, according to Saudi press reports.

:tinfoilhat: firmly strapped on.
