N Korea calls for US peace treaty
North Korea has reaffirmed its call for a peace treaty with the US, ahead of the resumption of talks aimed at ending the nuclear standoff on the peninsula.

Pyongyang said in a statement that a full treaty replacing the armistice signed at the end of the Korean War in 1953 was needed to resolve the crisis.

Six-nation talks are due to resume in Beijing on Tuesday.

North Korea walked out of the talks in February 2004, and has since admitted stockpiling atomic weapons.

The shape of the table?

12. The Viet Nam peace negotiations were delayed in 1968,
because neither side could agree on the shape of the table in Paris.

4. Who in the world is crazy enough to trust * to abide by a treaty?
He trashed enough when he first got to Washington. He's a compulsive liar and is going to do what he wants. Unless he's bought them off to get N. Korea out of sight and off the axis of evil list. Then he can concentrate on the ME and not have reminders that he only goes after countries with oil on the axis of evil list.

I constantly amazes me how I always seem to think up the worst reason our government does something, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Suprised at how low they can go though. And it's been a couple of years for that.

9. North Korea calls for peace treaty with US
Friday, July 22, 2005. 4:00pm (AEST)

North Korea calls for peace treaty with US

North Korea has called for a peace treaty with the United States to replace an armistice reached at the end of the Korean War in 1953.

A North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman says this could persuade the communist state to drop its nuclear program.

North Korea is technically still at war with the United States and South Korea because the Korean War ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman says replacing the armistice with a lasting peace mechanism is essential for the reunification of North and South Korea and establishing peace between them.

10.  Duh-bya doesn't want a peace treaty
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 02:31 AM by NYC Liberal
"Today's war on terror will not end with a ceremony, a surrender ceremony on a deck of a battleship"

And he considers NK to be a member of the "Axis of Evil" so no doubt a part of the War on Terra.
