Iraq Council Member: Iraq to Back Syria
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031013/ap_on_re_mi_ea/syria_iraq_1

DAMASCUS, Syria - A member of Iraq's U.S.-appointed Governing Council said Monday that any attack against Syria was considered an attack against Iraq.

Abdel-Aziz al-Hakim, who heads the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, a Shiite Muslim group, also said sending Turkish peacekeepers to Iraq will not solve the country's security crisis.

American troops should "leave as soon as possible because there are no people who believe in occupation and accepts occupiers," said Al-Hakim, whose elder brother and Shiite leader, Mohammed Baqir al-Hakim, was killed in an August bombing in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf.

Al-Hakim's three-day visit to Syria, which for a long time was a close ally of his group, comes a week after Israeli warplanes attacked a camp near Damascus that Israel claimed was a training center for the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad.

This is why we can't give those ungrateful bastards their country back. They might not willingly rubber-stamp another US led invasion.

8. ???? "We are being made to look like Invaders" ???

. . Iam taking for granted that that was in jest ??

- The BFEE and cohorts ARE invaders !

- Almost all alliances for war before was to come to the aid of a beleagered country at the mercy or an aggressor.

Right from the get-go noone seemed to pay attention to the fact that UN inspectors were crawling all over the place, found a few missiles that could go an exta hundred kliks or so

NONE of the neighbors was in conflict with Iraq and they ALL refused to join that farcical invisible coalition.

I think our Jean Chretien said it quite plainly, "We don't go to war for a Regime change, that's not how the world is supposed to work"

The USA's "leaders" (somehow that word doesn't seem appropriate - WAIT - the lite came on - Bushie musta read "The Pied Piper"

- you know where the city was beleagered with Rats - so he played them a tune they liked and they followed him blindly to their deaths in the sea)

- ok where was I

heck that's a close enuf analogy !!

- Ya

- THE BFEE ARE Invaders AND Occupiers

2. That's it - we're through the freakin' looking glass
If he considers an attack upon Syria to be an attack upon Iraq, then what the hell does he consider an attack upon Iraq to be?

6. What a great observation --
this guy can spout off all he wants -- it won't make any difference -- he's not in charge.

3. US's Handpicked Stooges Apparently Like Living
So they're turning against their masters...This would be funny if it weren't as serious as life and death for our soldiers. There's going to be an all out uprising very soon...

4. Let me see .. what was it * said this am from the golf course?
"Everything's going according to our strategy. We are on track! So shuddup!"

Paraphrased, but at any rate, gotta wonder how long before they attack Iraq again to get rid of the new rebellious leaders? Hmmmm

5. I don't think they're all reading from the same playbook.
In fact, it looks like they're playing on different teams. The U.S. sets up its own puppet council and what do they do? Why, they act like they're Iraqis, not Florida Republicans. Go figure! They just don't make puppets like they used to.

9. This man speak for many Shiites
His brother was killed in a car bomb, and he now has joined the call by another rival Shiite leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, in demanding the withdrawal of all foreign troops.

Muqtada al-Sadr also called for the creation of an Islamic State!
