AN overwhelming 85 per cent of people blame the Iraq invasion for the London bombings, a Daily Mirror/GMTV poll reveals today.

The survey is a hammer blow to Tony Blair, who insists Britain's role in the war had nothing to do with the 7/7 terror attacks.

His words were greeted with incredulity by critics who are convinced Muslim anger on Iraq has fuelled Islamic extremism. And now that view has been borne out by our YouGov poll

In all, 23 per cent said the war was the main reason for the London bombings. Another 62 per cent believe that while Iraq was not the principle cause, it did contribute to the reasons behind the atrocities.

In the event there are more bombings (God forbid), the English public may just take matters in their own hands.

Those Bobbies may get more mayhem than they counted on.

popular support due to these bombings.

11. I was interested to read that Jack Straw

was pulled into line when he made the completely outrageous statement that the London bombings had nothing to do with the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Blair knows the Brits aren't stupid, they know exactly why these bombings have occurred.

Bu*h and Blair have let the genie out of the bottle, and until the US and Britain adopt a sensible, workable foreign policy that may actually make the world a safe place to live again, no one on the planet will be safe.

But that is not their plan. Their plan is for worldwide violence to escalate, because violence and war is good for business.
