Could be Osama's guys, could be Saddam's guys, could be Kurdish terrorist group(s), I could even form conspiracy theories involving Greeks and Armenians.. When it's Turkey, you never know who the gift is from.

BTW, I'm Turkish, I was against our soldiers fighting for US in the war back in March. But right now I'm not against our troops going to Iraq for peacekeeping and bringing some order. The US brought chaos into Iraq and nothing else, and someone has to clean up after them. It should be UN, but they are not willing to do anything *right now* and Iraq needs some help, any help at the moment.

I'm not 100% sure that Turkish troops will be good, but at least it's a start. Kurds won't be happy at all, that's a sure thing, but Iraq is not only Kurds, even though the right-wing US media seems to -want to- believe it is so at the moment. To me, at least.

Blast at Turkish embassy in Iraq


An explosion has been reported outside the Turkish embassy in Baghdad.

Tukey's Anatolia news agency said it was caused by a suicide attack.

Two embassy employees are reported to have been wounded.

The incident comes a week after the Turkish parliament approved plans to send peacekeeping troops into Iraq - a move opposed by some members of the Iraqi Governing Council.

Just because there are car bombings, suicide bombings, rocket propelled grenade attacks on our troops, etc., it doesn't mean the schools aren't up and running and businesses aren't running. So, see? There's some violence, but the iraqi's really are happy and safe.

All of them. The UN, Jordan Embassy, the Mosque, the police stations, and now the Turkish Embassy. Everytime someone or a group goes slightly off of Chalabi's Empire Tract, they get bombed.

and Turkey? Their crime against Chalabi is simply that the turks want Kurdistan, and I don't think Chalabi wants Turkey to take over Kurdistan. All that oil and all. Shoot, the poor guy has waited over 20 years to become emperor, he isn't going to let the USA stand in his way.

What we have is a war inside a war inside a war.

USA vs. democracy; USA vs. Saddam; USA vs. the people of Iraq; and now, Chalabi vs the USA. I am surprised the USA hasn't off'ed Chalabi.

Did anyone see him interviewed on Frontline the other night? You can SEE the blood dripping from his fangs. Scariest tyrant the USA has ever installed anywhere -- and that's saying a lot. We've installed a bunch of thugs.

I know the guy is dangerous for Iraq from what Riverbend wrote about him in her blog, but I never thought of him in that way before. He seemed just a puppy installed by US to me. Thanks for the post, I will read more about him.

It would be quite ironic if another Saddam comes out of all this.
