5. Yikes!
I'm in Bozeman, and it was less than 10 seconds of minor shaking here. Go to the USGS's website and fill out their shakemap questionaire though.

3. glad i'm not camping around Yellowstone right now
even though it's not exactly 'western' Montana, i'd be a little freaked knowing that i'm camped inside a huge sleeping caldera...

12. When I was a teen, experienced a good shaker up near Flathead Lake.
Dad told me about predictions of the elders around earthquakes and the "end times". Can't recall exactly how they went...but I hear ya!

11. Quick lesson in earthquakes in the West
The whole Yellowstone area of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming are highly earthquake prone with rumblings daily. This is the area Bush wishes to drill and mine. No thanks, balance is already precarious.

A fault line runs from the Cascade Mountains west of Montana all the way to Boise.

16. Why do I get the feeling
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 12:00 AM by Whoa_Nelly
that the more EQs that seems to be spreading more inland are indicitive of a major EQ on the west coast? There was a 3.4 EQ in the San Joaquin Valley earlier today near Merced, CA., and a 4.1 late last night off the southern coast of CA. Here in the valley, we rarely have large EQ events. Maybe it's time...:scared:

17. I remember as a child my mother telling me God was
mad at the world when these things happened.

I'd say He's very unhappy about Bush's lack of caring for the environment, the poor and needy, and his killing innocents in third world countries with no reason.

I am not scared. The reckoning will happen if you believe in God, and I think/hope I've led a life that took care of the least fortunate and practiced Christ's Golden Rule to the best of my ability. I absolutely abhor Bush's pre-emptive strikes against minor nations.

19. Funny you should say that....I have been noticing an influx of CAians to
North Carolina area.
I had to replace a tv that had died, and was at the local Circuit City...my salesperson said he had newly arrived from San Clemente.
Not only did he and his wife move here, his parents are newly settling into NC.
Anyway, it just seems more than the usual amount of Californians coming in. Wonder if they became nervous after the big plate shift?

22. And since being back in CA after 23 years
Am thinking of my future and moving to my home state of OK for that very reason...I could afford an 1800sq. ft. home at about $1,000/month (that's including insurance, utilites, maintenance.)

23. There are even reports from Kalispell, Coeur d'Alene Idaho,
and eastern Washington. So the quake covers quite an area.
