Iraqi Official Demands Timetable for Withdrawal
http://www.antiwar.com/glantz/?articleid=6750

snip - Al-Safi: "One of the good things that this government did is make good relationships with the neighboring countries. A country like Iran – it is very important to build a good relationship with them, especially since we fought a war with them for eight years. That will be good for our security situation and will be good for our economy. We have a lot in common with Iran. We have water issues. We have issues of the immigration between the two countries. We have an interest on our side to make Iran send us oil products after we give them crude oil. That is one of our priorities. And we send oil to their ports from the south of Iraq to Iran – and then distribute it around the world.

"We are also thinking about building trucking roads, and we are thinking about paving more highways between Iraq and Iran. And one of the important things that we dealt with is that Iran will be the provider of food for the food rations of Iraqi people. We are so happy about this visit to Iran and we have so many hopes that go with it. Especially since we made agreements for military training for the Iraqi military in Iran, which is worth around $2 billion

DUer's - go read the article - it is really good. And now we can wonder not why, but when the US invades Iran!

1. You know what the Middle East really needed? Another Iran.
Thanks George! Anything else you'd like to fuck up on your way out?

2. Someone should dig up the audio clip where Bush said that we would leave
once the Iraqi government told us to.

5. Yeah, but Scott McClelland would still not comment.
"It's not proper for me to comment as long as the war continues."

6. "I'm sorry, but I cannot comment on an ongoing war. I will be happy to
comment when the war is over, but we are currently in an ongoing war, so you'll have to wait until the ongoing war is over"

3. Who do those Iraqis think they are? It's OUR country now,
we conquered them, killed them off, and stole it fair and square under the Bu*h Doctrine. The nerve of some people. They just hate us for our freedom.

(sarcasm)

4. Ah, those leaders of Iraq are terrorists. We should invade them.
Take them out of office and establish a liberal democracy.

Oops! ;-)
