Bush to Meet Schwarzenegger in California (On Thursday)
Bush to Meet Schwarzenegger in California
By REUTERS

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush will meet California Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday, but the White House was making no promises on sending new help for the state's economy.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said on Tuesday Bush would meet Schwarzenegger at a Riverside, California, hotel, their first meeting since the former bodybuilder's election in California's recall battle a week ago.

Schwarzenegger, whose election could help Bush in next year's presidential campaign, said last week he would be asking for a lot of help from the president.

``I'm looking forward to working with him and asking for a lot, a lot of favors,'' Schwarzenegger said.

1. Vote Republican and your State will get Economic Help
Vote Democrat and you'll get nothing and like it.

Could this be a new GOP tactic to coherce people into voting Republican, kind of like Blackmailing people?

Looks like to to me.

11. Actually, it IS one of their strategies
I recall an article or survey that showed the red states getting the most help and he's made comments during the 02 election that the state would do better if a Repug got, something like "If you vote for X, you'll have a friend in the White House." The next target is states that might go GOP.

And it doesn't sound like blackmail, it IS blackmail!

17. With Bush's track record...
Any promises of assistance virtually ensure the exact opposite.

It's all about the sound bite on the local TV news. He'll promise to deliver billions of dollars to CA. Once the cameras go away, though, it's time to pull out the screwdrivers and pull the light fixtures out of the walls. With Bush, what he says often sounds pretty damn good -- which is why he got into office in the first place. It's what actually happens that's the problem.

That site needs some updating, but it still tells the story of the Bush "bait and switch" fairly well.

15. I wish I could take credit
But a few days ago on DU someone coined this duo "Dumb and Dumber."

I think that would make an ass-kicking placard.

President Bush will meet California Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday, but the White House was making no promises on sending new help for the state's economy.

Dumbya hasn't been able to propose new tax cuts lately, so the finances aren't too good in DC and there's no way he can help Calf. without helping the other 47 states with budget holes

9. The Busheviks will go through the laughable charade of "deciding"
but the Imperial Province of Kallie-fornia will get largesse that could only be rivalled, say, by Ferdinand Marcos, or Baby Doc, when trying to secure a province's loyalty for themselves.

What a joke! This is another predictable event of which I am 100% certain. In spite of the Bushevik charade, they absolutely positively WILL 100% funnel monies both legal, semi-legal and illegal in order to keep the province Loyal to the Emperor.

The only way to get federal attention is if the governor is a Republican..........I hope others are outraged also!

16. Bush will never meet Arnold in San Francisco
or, anywhere else in Northern California. If he did, every citizen would be on the street protesting in earnest. But, Southern Calififornia and the Valley are relatively safe repug territory in which to meet. Still, there will be plenty of Dems to protest this "meeting". And, a lot of DU'ers will be on hand as well!

And, I don't believe Arnold will help Junior in next year's election. Californians are fed up. And, the incumbent George Bush won't fare well outside of Orange, San Diego, and San Joaquin counties.

So, Junior, f*** you and the plane you flew in on! Go back to Crawford with your Condi and Pickles.

:P

(I truly miss the middle finger smilie at times like this!)

And who wants to go to Riverside?

Ugh.

They're obviously meeting WAY WAY off the beaten track.

Gee, wonder why?

Maybe Ken Lay will be at this meeting, too
