Newark, Jul. 27 (UPI) — Police in Newark arrested five illegal Egyptian immigrants including one who a tipster said is related to Sept. 11, 2001, hijacker Mohamed Atta.

Authorities said they recovered some New York subway maps, a video of New York landmarks and $8,000 in cash from the apartment, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Police, however, said the men -- all illegal immigrants working "menial" jobs -- did not appear to be part of any terror cell. They had yet to explain how they came to posses the items in their apartment.

Despite the tipster's claim, police said there was no indication one of the five is related to Atta, the man the U.S. government claims piloted a plane into the World Trade Center.

"The investigation is continuing, but so far there is no nexus to terrorism," said an FBI spokesman.

All of the men, who face deportation, claimed to be unemployed civil or chemical engineers.

and it made it's way til UPI. They maybe have more, but with no confirmation, no news. And they (UPI) haven't said much about what the Atta "connection" was.

11. I sit here absolutely stunned

Not only that the police could detain five guys from Egypt over some money, a video and a subway map but that the writers and editors of UPI could actually write this story with a straight face.

The only explanation I have is that capital criminals George Bush and Tony Blair have finally driven the United States and Great Britain insane with their wars of terror and lies.

wow. I was in Paris and had subway maps, pictures and videos of landmarks and cash. I didn't even have a menial job as I was masquerading as a tourist, claiming to be an unemployed medical person. Good thing no one called in the tip I am related to someone.
