Bar Assn. Reviewing Roberts Recommendation
WASHINGTON - The American Bar Association is reviewing whether the favorable recommendation it gave John Roberts for his federal appellate court judgeship is good for the Supreme Court nomination as well.

The nation's largest lawyers' group is interviewing judges, lawyers who argued before Roberts, community leaders, law professors and Roberts.

...

The group's relations with Bush have been rocky. In 2001, Bush ended the ABA's preferential role in vetting prospective judicial nominees and decided the administration would not give the group advance word on names under consideration.

Conservatives had been bitter ever since the ABA's mixed review of the qualifications of failed Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork in the Reagan administration.

1. I swear there is something really, really foul going on with
this nomination... something that no one in power wants to see out. There is just too much weirdness surrounding it.

2. The Federalist Society is just another parallel power structure ploy
It's a standard neocon/Dominionist tactic.
