No charges in Denver 3 ouster (case involving Bush event)
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 02:25 PM by Rose Siding
Federal prosecutors have declined to press charges of impersonating a Secret Service agent against a White House volunteer who forcibly ousted three people from a speech by President George W. Bush in Denver on March 21.

The announcement was made without explanation today in a letter from the Secret Service to Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar and Reps. Mark Udall and Diana DeGette, all Democrats who had asked for the agency to investigate the incident.
...
Congressman Mark Udall, D-Colo., said in a statement, "It's puzzling that the Secret Service would take four months to come up with nothing."

"Frankly, if the Secret Service and White House have nothing to hide, and if no law was broken, don't the American people have a right to know the results of the investigation and who was responsible for ejecting the Denver 3?"

"Hopefully the White House will put in place procedures for town meetings that allow all views to be heard and that respect all law-abiding individuals," Udall said.

1. Bullshit.
This has steam coming out of my ears. The imposter/facist should be prosecuted to the fullest and we have every right to know the identity of the imposter.

4. Hmmm, wouldn't this be the same as an impersonating an officer charge?
I KNOW people get arrested and convicted in State and local cases when some idiot pmpersonates an officer, and this soundds like the same thing to me!

7. That's why I don't understand why charges are not being pursued.
Guess they only stick to the laws when Democrats are in office and oral sex is involved.

3. interesting tidbit here...
A Secret Service agent who investigated the incident said the man admitted ousting them solely because they arrived in a vehicle bearing a "No-more-blood-for-oil" bumper sticker. The Secret Service has said the man was not an agent but refused to name him because he was not charged.

6. The Denver 3 should attend every local GOP event until they
see the guy again. Then they should sue him for violating their civil rights.

I was listing to "The Ed Shultz Show" on my way home from work. One of his guests was Leslie Weise, who broke the news about the outcome of the investigation on his program.

Ms. Weise said that they now plan to pursue litigation against the USG.

8. Omerta wins again
I guess impersonating a Secret Service agent in order to violate citizens' civil rights isn't such a serious thing in George W. Bush's post-9/11 America.

11. How much does anyone want to bet that this guy was part of a....
...private security group employed by the NeoCons? Being as paranoid as they are, could anyone really expect the NeoCons to trust the Secret Service to protect them against a potential assassination?

I think that's what's being hidden in this story...a private security group of hand-picked men and women.
