Schmidt can't recall Ach favor (More OH Repub Scandals, 2ND District)
http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050730/NEWS01/507300376/1056

Paul Hackett faces an uphill climb. The repukes drew this district so that they could probably run Saddam and still win. Perhaps they picked a candidate worse that Saddam.

Funny how terrible repukes memories are. Their symbol is the elephant isn't it? Ohwell, anywhere there is an elephant, there is bound to be a pile of shit.

"Republican congressional candidate Jean Schmidt's media consultant said Friday she had no recollection of lobbying the governor's office on behalf of Cincinnati businessman Roger Ach's Internet lottery business when she was a state representative, as was reported Friday by the Toledo Blade.

But her Democratic opponent, Paul Hackett, jumped on the story, saying Schmidt "should have been lobbying for her constituents."

The Blade on Friday quoted documents released by Gov. Bob Taft's office that included a November 2001 e-mail written by Taft staff member Jon Allison complaining that Schmidt "continues to bug me on the Internet lottery."

Schmidt was campaigning in Brown County on Friday and could not be reached for comment, but her media consultant, Fritz Wenzel, said he discussed the Blade story with Schmidt on Friday morning and said she could not recall any conversations with anyone in the governor's office about Ach's business."

3. Off Topic, but Yes
I'm a Who freak if you can tell from my screen name.

I like Keith, but it's the expression in his face in that photo that made me put it on there.

My face looks like that everytime I read about, or see the latest assault on intelligence from this mis-administration.

2. More on Roger Ach
http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050729/NEWS24/507290436

While Roger Ach II pushed Ohio to offer online lottery ticket sales, the chief executive officer of the financially troubled Games Inc. had power brokers working to give him "20 minutes" with Gov. Bob Taft, according to documents released yesterday by the governor's office.

Even after issuing stock to some of the most influential Ohioans - including Ohio Republican Party Chairman Bob Bennett and Brian Hicks, Governor Taft's former chief of staff - Mr. Ach was unsuccessful in convincing the state to put its lottery online.

The Blade first reported on Wednesday that Tom Noe, the former Toledo-area coin dealer under investigation, invested at least $150,000 of the state's money with the company.

11. Not all of us
Speaking for those of us who have been getting out the vote, campaigning and fundraising for candidates in Ohio for the last several years, we don't deserve this kind of government.

And there are more important issues at stake than gay marriage.

7. OH, NO! Another victim of GOP Impartial Recall Disease!
Recent victims:

Jeb Bush, who could not recall that John Roberts assisted in the Florida recount.
John Roberts, who could not recall that he was a member of the Federalist Society.
John Bolton, who could not recall whether or not he had testified in an investigation.

I am getting very concerned about their health. Are they eating too much mad cow beef? Are they dealing with too much stress in their lives? Or are they just lying rat bastards?

19. I'll take "C"
A) Mad cow?

B) Too much stress?

C) Lying rat bastards.

It could become "B" if some reporters would start asking these lying rat bastards followup questions like, "If you cannot recall __fill in Republican crime family scandal here___ how can the voters believe you are capable of performing your job?

10. I googled Jean and I can't believe all the scandals she's been
involved in. It's unbelievable that she isn't being forced to resign her state representative seat in disgrace. She's actually probably going to be promoted by Ohio voters. Only in America, huh?

The best thing Jean has going for her: 13,798 voters in the democratic primary and 42,390 in the republican. Miracles can and do happen though. I read Hackett actually has more money on hand than Schmidt and one hell of alot more volunteers. It will certainly be close.
