Democrats vow not to take out anger on Roberts

The Washington Times

WASHINGTON -- Congressional Democrats yesterday called President Bush's recess appointment of John R. Bolton as U.N. ambassador an "abuse of power," but said any ill will would not affect the prospects of his Supreme Court nominee, Judge John G. Roberts Jr.

"Each nomination's unique," said Rebecca Kirszner, a spokeswoman for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat. "The willingness of the White House to allow Congress to perform its duty is certainly a factor for all nominations.

"The Roberts nomination will be judged on its own merits," she said.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the Massachusetts Democrat who is expected to help lead his party's opposition to Judge Roberts, called Mr. Bush's recess appointment "shameful and irresponsible" and lamented that the "cloak of secrecy from the White House continues."

13. Pretty breath-taking, isn't it?
The WH now gets brownie points for not violating any laws. Of course, since a day hasn't gone by here in the Fourth Reich in which the WH hasn't broken at least a few laws, I suppose one has to be realistic in ones expectations...

5. Now that's a relief. I think Dick Durbin should apologize again also,
just for good measure.

SCREW this temperate, balanced, objective bushit! So sorry, Judge Roberts, but when you lie down with the Head Cockroach, you get hit with the can of Raid as well!

7. The headline should read. " Democrats vow to do nothing as usual"
I heard puke Scully on C-span reading a quote from a MSM paper talking about Democratic anger over Bolton. Hell I sure as hell haven`t read anything that sounds angry. Just sad and wimpy is the way I gauge the Dem response. Maybe I haven`t read what the pukes have.

8. Run up the white flag! "We will not begin to fight!" "Give up the ship"
What a bunch of losers. Won't it be refreshing when (if?) the Democrats ever find a spine????

9. Congress, being mostly males, has no worries about Roberts
Until their rights begin to be challenged, they don't care one bit.
Such a shameless bunch of has-been democrats. The congressional democrats can used their little nips and words of shameful and responsible, and then go right along with all of Little W's "cloak of secrecy". It's nothing but rheoteric, and I'm fed up with them.
Bush will appoint himself or brother Jeb, president in the next "election" and we can have another four years of this hell. Thanks to the spineless Democrats. I've been a democrat all my life, and will
be one til I die, but here's hoping we get some new congress members with a spine.
I don't want anyone asking me for a contribution until they can grown a spine and whip some _ss.

10. Why in the hell not?
If Chimpy's "shameful and irresponsible" actions don't garner him any censure, if there's never a price to pay, and to this point, damned little of his shameful and irresponsible behavior has been visited upon his pointy little head, then the Democrats might as well change their party affiliation.

Although I notice that Reid's spokeswoman's comments don't quite back up the blanket assertion of the headline. Maybe the Democrats are going to work a little payback, but they just haven't seen fit to let the Washington Times in on it? I'll go with that, for now.

12. Why Post Anything From The Moonie Times
Are we even sure the Democrats were quoted accurately? I don't trust anything from this rag. Posting any story from it makes people think it is a legitimate source of news when its not.

14. Q: What's an 8-letter synonym for "collaborator"...
...that starts with D and ends with T?

A: Please don't ask. I'm spending all my extra mental energy believing in the fiction of a two-party system.
