£11,000 for London bomb victims
"The families of those killed in the London terror attacks will be eligible for £11,000 compensation under a government-funded scheme.

The cash pay-out, under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme, compares with around £2m for each death claim in the US over victims of 11 September."

1. Big difference as to where the money came from...
The payouts in the US came from donations and insurance companies.

Many states also have Victim's Compensation funds like the UK. In alot of states if you are a victim of a violent crime your are eligible for compensation. The money usually comes from criminal fines and tickets.
