Poll Shows Spitzer Leading All Potential Rivals But Giuliani (NY Gov)

Attorney General Eliot Spitzer appears to be in good shape for next year's governor's race – that is, unless former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani decides to run.

The latest Quinnipiac poll finds that Spitzer would beat out a substantial list of possible Republican candidates, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former Massachusetts Governor William Weld, and Westchester D.A. Jeanine Pirro – as well as Independence candidate Thomas Golisano.

But Spitzer still trails Giuliani by 7 percentage points in a hypothetical match-up against the former mayor.

Nevertheless, the poll shows quite an improvement for Spitzer since April, when Giuliani was 25 points ahead.

I would say this - Rudy Giuliani is THANKFUL that the president HE voted for was handed the Hart-Rudman Report on Global Terror on Jan 30, 2001, and he REFUSED TO READ IT.

Any other President in the history of this nation, would have shown the responsibilty and READ THAT REPORT.

Rudy is THANKFUL that Bush is a president who chose NOT to read it.

Rudy is THANKFUL that Bush is a president who IGNORED the threat of terror.

Rudy is THANKFUL for a president who FOUGHT inquiries into WH failings before 9-11.

8. Rudy is, was, and always will be, a BULLY

He fits in great with this administration, but there are a lot of us who weren't blinded by 9/11 and remember what the man was like PRE 9/11.

I remember one particular quote of his, "I don't care if you homeowners don't want a stadium in your backyards, it's MY decision, not yours." Yep, that's ole Rudy for you. I won't even go into the corruption factor.

Spitzer spanks Giuliani next year—if Rudy dares to run. NY state is hungry for change and Rudy is a bona fide nouveau riche establishment boot licker. Spitzer can run as an outsider and as a corporate crime fighter to defuse Rudy's law-and-order message. He can also tie Rudy to *, which is a home run in every major metro area in the state. Spitzer's a fresh face in a very stale environment. I can't wait to see him as my Guv. If it takes stomping Rudy along the way, so be it.

Remember? The one that was the former Chief of Police, or some such, where the guy was corrupt as hell, and withdrew his name from nomination. It was either FBI, CIA or Homeland Security that he was up for, but they found out he was way corrupt.
