Marine Killed by Small Arms Fire in Ramadi

An American Marine was killed in action during operations in a volatile city west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said Thursday.

The Marine, whose name was not released, was killed Wednesday by small arms fire in Ramadi, 70 miles west of Baghdad.

The Marine died on the same day that 14 Marines and an Iraqi civilian translator were killed in a huge bombing near Haditha, which is about 70 miles northwest of Ramadi. It was the deadliest roadside bombing suffered by American forces in the Iraq war.

Strange that the media has reported this so late, since this Marine did die yesterday, with the 14 other Marines.

1. Reporting of deaths

I'd like to think that at least in the reporting of deaths, this admin and the DoD would rise above Politics and propaganda.....I'd like to think that, but I DON'T!

BTW, I have seen it said here often that the DoD doesn't include those who die after being evacuated from Iraq (for instance on the way to Landstuhl, Germany). Anyone have a Link for this and an idea how many this may be?
