TERRORISTS could be preparing to use women and children as suicide bombers in further attacks on trains and other soft targets in London, internal Scotland Yard documents have warned.

Official “stop and search” guidance just issued to thousands of Metropolitan police officers indicates that police fear the bombers may be planning to change their tactics.

“Terrorists will try to use our actions against us and will adapt their methods (use women or even children),” the document states.

The paper contains advice to officers exercising their powers under section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The rules govern the conduct of the 6,000 officers who have been deployed across the capital to stop a possible third terror cell following on from the July 7 atrocities and the failed July 21 attacks.

TONY BLAIR’S proposed crackdown on Muslim extremism is said to be legally unsound and many of the proposals are likely to be blocked by the House of Lords.

The prime minister unveiled a package of new measures designed to stamp out home-grown terrorism last week.

They include powers to deport those inciting terrorism, closing down places of worship, a new offence of “glorifying terrorism” and stripping citizenship from extremists.

However, lawyers said yesterday the government would be unable to escape its obligations under the British Human Rights Act and the European human rights convention. Human rights law bars Britain from deporting people to countries where they may be tortured. It also protects the right to free speech.

The British cops may be reacting to the fact that these deplorable tatics, i.e., using women and children as sucide bombers, have been used in the Middle East, and is no longer beyond the pale. The terrorists are forcing our societies to make changes to our ways of lives. If we succumb, it is another victory for them. If we don't, than we have to be aware at the very least of how low the terrorists can go and of the consequences.

12. Hmmm you may be right

Yeah. That is another angle to look at it, of course. We are absolutely responsible for the choices that we make that will effect our lives. But these choices come from our reactions to what is happening to us. There is always a choice. We go one way or not, or some place else entirely. Right now, we are reacting for better or worse. Instead of singing to the choir here, we ought to take our view out into "freeper-land" so to speak; make sure that their support isn't just blind reaction either, you know? All I know is that the tactics mentioned in the original post has been used. The fear is that it will again be used - but no one is sure - it's just a fear. That's my pint if we succumb to that fear, well than what you and I have right now is over, no?
