(NH GOP chair) Henderson issues "Dean Decency Challenge"
(Claptrap from the NH Republican chair, followed by a Dem response):

Henderson issues "Dean Decency Challenge"

CONCORD, NH - New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Warren
Henderson invited Democrat National Committee Chairman Howard Dean to accept
a "Dean Decency Challenge" during his visit to New Hampshire tomorrow.

"It's this simple," Henderson stated. "For one day, just for his visit to
New Hampshire, I challenge Chairman Dean not to insult, not to attack, not
to demean, anybody or anything. Don't malign conservatives, people of
faith, our peace missions overseas, Southerners, Christians, our President,
pro-life Americans or anyone else. For one day just address those specific,
positive proposals that Democrats have put forward on critical issues.
Treat the people of New Hampshire with decency by leaving the vitriol
behind. It shouldn't be that hard."

...and now for a different view:

Rep. Peter Sullivan's response to Warren Henderson's comments on Gov.Howard Dean

"Since Warren Henderson is a Republican, it is perhaps understandable that he has never heard the wise words one of our greatest presidents, Harry Truman: if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

"Mr. Henderson's assertion that Gov. Dean demeans Christians and Southerners is bizarre. I am a practicing Catholic who is married to a Southerner, and I have never heard Gov. Dean say anything that lends credibility to Warren's weird assertion.

"If Warren Henderson believes that Democrats don't have a message, he isn't listening. While Republicans like Jeb Bradley and Warren Henderson offer only apologies for the politics of complacency and corruption, Democrats have been pushing for strong action. Democrats have supported an expansion of national and community services; Democrats have fought to fully fund the veteran's health care system; Democrats have vigorously pursued legislation to clean up the corruption on Capitol Hill; and Democrats are striving to reform our tax system to make it simpler, fairer, and more conducive to economic growth.

"It's time for Warren Henderson to grow up. His silly bouts of name-calling and innuendo won't solve anyone's problems. A tough, honest and progressive agenda will."

3. "Peace missions"????
Is that what we're calling our wars now? I guess it's fitting since we're causing so many unfortunate souls to rest in peace.

Now that the name is changed, I don't mind a bil a week and thousands of American dead, and the Iraqis free to die under our boambs.

14. Oh I love it, we should use that
Yeah, the troops aren't fighting 'em over there anymore, they're on a "peace mission". The wing nuts will LOVE THAT. And the soldiers themselves, oh man, they will go ballistic. Peace Mission. I don't know how they look themselves in the mirror.

4. Typical political bullshit and a great response.
"I invite my colleague to take the high road and stop being the disgusting piece of dog shit he his. No more namecalling of the type his kind of traitorous vermin scabbed over pusmonger makes. I challenge him to be as virtuous as me, if such a total change of characheter is allowed by his master, Satan".

"Sorry, we talk issues and are going to continue. Got a problem with that, can't help you."

9. Ooo, decency. Maybe Dr Dean can ask Cheney about decency...
...given Cheney's snappy comeback on the Senate floor. Or Rove, now there's another paragon of Republican decency.

We have so much to learn from them. Mmmm, hmmm.

12. Nice work Rep Sullivan!
His quote on the "simpler" tax system "conducive to economic growth" leaves me with a question or two, but otherwise nice work.

18. I'd like to buy Pete Sullivan a beer...
THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRATS SHOULD DO!!! I don't care if you don't necessarily agree with every word that falls from Howard Dean's lips, when some asshat Republican attacks one of your guys, you come out swinging! Every freaking time! And you don't stop pummeling the repulsive Repulican SOB until he's sniveling in the corner. Every freaking time!

Pete Sullivan -- If you're ever in Milwaukee, the first round is on me.

Quite frankly, you couldn't assemble a much better rogues list. Add corporations and sycophantic journalists for completeness. ;-)

Go get 'em, Deanie boy.
