Emails reveal Enron chief on anxiety tablets
http://www.money.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2003/10/16/cnenron16.xml&menuId=242&sSheet=/money/2003/10/16/ixfrontcity.html

Emails revealing the highs, the lows, and the one night stands of life at Enron, as well as Ken Lay's need for a regular supply of anxiety tablets, have been posted on a US government website.

In a show of typically American openness, investigators into the notorious financial and political scandal decided that around 1.5m internal emails should be made available to the public.

The stuff is supposed to be somewhere on the ferc.gov site, if someone wants to go looking.

9. I believe Cliff Baxter had much to say!
It appears that Mr. Baxter was not from the same cut as Kenneth Lay and Jeff Skillings.

I'm amazed how they skirted about the law just like junior did when he was on the inside and playing the money game. What's even more disturbing is the silence from the Democrats on the hill. Is it because they don't want to incriminate themselves or friends?

So what's the difference between the two parties?

11. It's probably just a matter of the number of zeros after the first
digit on the balance sheet statements of their respective offshore bank accounts.

Reminds me of other notable homocides: "Vincenzo Fosterini" - a 'democrat on the "Hill" ' with a very disturbing silence!

How about Lilly Safra's first husband, who committed suicide by shooting himself....er, twice, that is, just to be sure....

Let's hope Cliff Baxter is being saved up for the Grand Finale: remember Tony Blair's emphatic vow to the UK parliament: "There is absolutely no Enron scandal in the UK!"

Someone should check out the offshore holdings of Mr & Mrs Blair's blind trust - The Manchester Trust - run by chums of 'Middle East envoy' Lord Levy and Australian mall developer Frank Lowy - the one who took out a lease option on the WTC shopping compound just before 9/11...

Otherwise Lay and Skillings will surely get their Papal Knighthoods!!

2. And this is anybody's business
Edited on Thu Oct-16-03 07:18 AM by Superfly
why?

We always complain when somebody exposes a Dem's personal (private) shortfalls, yet turn around and do it just the same to Repukes. You're acting like a freaking paparazzi.

4. 'Scuse Me But It's LBN Rules
to not alter the headline.

The important thing is that these emails are available on the FERC site for anyone who wants to go investigate possible proof of wrongdoing.

So sorry to have offended your delicate sensibilities.

12. You didn't offend me
This is just a non-story. Thanks for wasting DU bandwidth with this nonsense.

"So sorry to have offended your delicate sensibilities."

You must have heard that someplace and have been dying to use that as your tag line....am I right?

3. I think old KennyBoy should buy a round of pills for all the folks
who lost their life savings due to him and his crooked company.

Think they might be feeling a little anxious too?

5. That would work out pretty expensive!
If you go into a pub/bar in the UK and ask for a pint of Pills** it sets you back at least $4-5 equivalent!

** Some sort of "pillsner" I think....

6. A white man in pain -- leave him alone people, it's cruel to kick a
white man when he's in pain. It's inhuman. Let him continue his path of destruction unimpeded. The man has a good excuse for the miserable human being he is.

Rush Limbaugh and now Ken Lay. You know what we would call them in my time? Wimps. They should take their punishment like a man.

8. That is a VERY important point.
Steal a loaf of bread from the store, go to jail. Steal millions of dollars from your investors, retire comfortably.

I think they forgot what came after their vaunted "one nation under God," with justice and liberty for all.

13. What are the statutes of limitation for the allegations?
I would love to post this to the stock thread header. There is a daily count of the Enron collapse. A statute of limitation count would also be valuable.
