Sullivan Challenges Bradley on Corrupt PAC Money
(MANCHESTER)- State Rep. Peter Sullivan today called upon Congressman Jeb Bradley to refuse to accept additional funding from a political action committee accused of illegal activity.
Bradley has received $15,000 from Americans for a Republican Majority (ARMPAC), which is under investigation for improper reporting procedures and using corporate funds for prohibited purposes. According to the Washington Post, a Federal Election Commission audit found that ARMPAC made material misstatements about donations, disbursements and the amount of cash on hand.
The organization is headed by House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who is himself the subject of several ethics investigations.
"Jeb Bradley has accepted cash from an organization that clearly thinks it is above the law", said Sullivan. "It was bad enough for Jeb to take money from a group headed by a corrupt politician like Tom DeLay, but now that ARMPAC has been cited by government authorities, it's time for Jeb to face the music.
" I am calling on Jeb Bradley to pledge to refuse any future contributions from Americans for a Republican Majority. In addition, I am challenging Jeb to donate $15,0000, the amount he has pocketed from this shady organization, to a New Hampshire charitable organization. If Jeb decides to keep the money, it is further proof that his loyalties lie with crooked Texas politicians, not with the people of New Hampshire."
Rep. Peter Sullivan is currently serving his third term as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. An attorney and a former officer in the Army National Guard, he resides in Manchester with his wife, Katya.
