NYT: Pirro Is Forced to Address Chapter of Husband's Past
Pirro Is Forced to Address Chapter of Husband's Past
By MICHAEL COOPER
Published: August 16, 2005

ALBANY, Aug. 15 - For much of her week-old candidacy, questions have swirled about whether Jeanine F. Pirro's campaign for the United States Senate will be hampered by the conviction of her husband, Albert J. Pirro Jr., on tax fraud charges five years ago. Now, to the dismay of her campaign and her family, another, much more personal issue has surfaced: the daughter Mr. Pirro fathered by another woman 22 years ago.

After The New York Post reported Monday that Mr. Pirro had offered to buy a new car for the young woman it called his "love child" just as his wife's campaign began, the woman, Jaclyn Marciano, telephoned The New York Times to say that Mr. Pirro had been treating her well and to complain that "everybody is trashing my dad."

And Mr. Pirro - who fathered the woman several years after his marriage to Ms. Pirro - issued a statement saying that he had "read with considerable sadness the attempt by The New York Post to portray my continued support of my daughter Jaclyn as a recent political event."

Jeanine Pirro's political fortunes have been tied to her husband, for better or worse, for years now. In 1986, she withdrew from contention as the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor so that her husband would not have to disclose information about his law firm's clients. In 1999, Ms. Pirro was said to be mulling a run for the Senate when her husband was indicted on tax fraud charges, so she decided not to run.

This year, though, Ms. Pirro and her advisers decided that his conviction would not be a serious impediment in her race to unseat Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton....

1. She sure has the oversight abilities a Senator needs, right?

24. Thought it was the "premature death of her campaign"
was great, especially when Jon "offered" her his sheet as a replacement for her "page 8" (or was it page 10?)

14. That was unbelievable, we're even watching the re-runs
It was almost pathetic to see her blank stare and her desperation when she couldn't find the script. Jon Stewart is getting better every day, and I didn't think that was possible. :toast:

4. Didn't think the GOP could find a worse candidate than Little Ricky Lazio
But they've actually done it!

How long before the NY Republicans import Alan Keyes to replace her?

18. I was thinking the same thing
I thought that I had seen the most ridiculous Senate candidate in my lifetime in Alan Keyes. I think Carmela Soprano here may take the title.

21. "Carmela" is a great nickname for her...
Keyes is rested, ready and just as crazy as ever...I'm sure he can pack his bags in a New York minute and do for the party there what he did in Illinois.

Little Ricky set a high mark too....remember, he:

--Ran an ad dishonestly claiming that Daniel Moynahan had endorsed him and not Hillary (John McCain came to town to campaign for Ricky and, when he learned in public from reporters' questions that Ricky had done that, ended up scolding him and stomping off stage instead);

--Stormed away from his own podium in a debate to demand Hillary sign a piece of paper he said was a pledge not to use soft money;

--Then took a bus tour(?!?) of Utah and Colorado at the height of the campaign to raise more soft money (Hillary was in upstate New York wowing crowds while Lazio was riding down empty highways out West);

--Tried to pretend it was a scandal that an elderly Democrat in one of Hillary's ads WAS a Democrat;

--Ran an ad in which his wife (who looked 10 years older than little Ricky) angrily demanded that Hillary stop running attack ads ("Mommy, mommy, that mean girl is picking on me!"). That one was especially funny because Hillary's ads didn't even bother to mention him.

By the way, another great GOP Senate candidate ran in Connecticut that year: Philip Giordano ran around the state charging that Joe Lieberman was soft on child pornography; after the election it turned out he had been molesting children in his office while Mayor of Waterbury.

7. Lemme guess, she's running on a family values platform
And is going to call Hillary an anti-family demon because she didn't divorce bill for his blow job. Seriously, it wouldn't surprise me. Republicans really think they can do what they want, but if a Dem even makes the slightest slip, it's proof that we are all anti-family perverts.

I think it's time to start getting in these assholes' faces. Have demos outside their churches on Sunday saying Keep Your Nose Out of My Life and I Will Extend You the Same Courtesy, You Hypocritical Assholes.

conviction wouldn't be a factor. And the illegitimate daughter calling the N.Y. Times had me laughing out loud.

10. Wow, what a show
Introduced with great fanfare as the Hillary-killer, the next Republican senator of Librul New York!

Now, what, a week a and a half later? She's an incompetent liability with family connections that are extremely embarassing. (Those embarassing family ties are a bitch, ain't they?)

Oh how the mighty have fallen. And so quickly.

Before I'm corrected, I do not object to her private life, but see it in her life as a Repuke--"Repuke values" and loose cannon.

PIRRO IN SILK

WE know what sexy Westchester DA Jeanine Pirro wears under those short skirts. A manager at the Victoria's Secret on Purchase Street in Rye says Pirro comes in every few months and drops around $600 on matching silky bra and underwear sets. "She likes the expensive stuff," the manager told The Post's Marianne Garvey. Pirro is a perfect customer, except that she once tried to return an item without a receipt. "She wants us to break the rules," said the manager. "She's one scary woman." Pirro is also known down the block at Ruby's Oyster Bar, where a waiter said, "She was in here two weeks ago throwing back margaritas."

22. The daughter should be off limits
I don't like when either party goes after the other for personal stuff. Cindy's divorce should be off-limits and this "love child" thing should be off limits.

Of course Lewinsky should have been off-limits too, but that's life, I guess ...
