CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - Hundreds of anti-war protesters held candles and chanted outside the White House on Wednesday in support of Cindy Sheehan, who is demanding a meeting with
President George W. Bush to urge him to bring U.S. troops home from
Iraq, where her son was killed a year ago.

Sheehan has camped out along a country road in Crawford asking for a meeting with Bush, who is on a month-long vacation at his ranch there. She has become a magnet for anti-war protesters who have crowded around her since her vigil began August 6 in the community of 705 people.

More than 1,800 Americans have been killed in Iraq and thousands more have been wounded.

"We at Camp Casey who have been out here sweating and getting bit by bugs ... are so amazed and filled with love and gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of support from all over the country," Sheehan told reporters.

Bush's Texas ranch August 6 in an attempt to force a meeting with Bush to argue her case for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. (Chip Somodevilla/Reuters)

9. here you go...
right click, click on properties, then copy the URL. After you have pasted the URL in the post delete all of the letters/numbers/bs after the .jpg ending. Then enter message.

Yahoo changed their urls a while ago and it took me a bit to figure it out.

hope it helps.

7. Went to a nice vigil in Ma. tonight. What a nice night and beautiful
event.

As I was leaving and walking up the road from the house of worship, I looked up and saw a nearly full moon shining brightly and reflecting off the clouds. I remember thinking that this is the same moon that people in Iraq saw earlier in the day, and that the people in Crawford Texas will be seeing later tonight.

It seemed to connect us all for a moment.

I was shaken out of my thoughts by someone speeding by in a black SUV shouting an obscenity at the house of worship !! I was appalled, shocked and extremely amazed at the ignorance.

I cannot understand how these ignorant cowards have stolen our country and committed international crimes in our name. Apparently, these people do not even have the courage or intelligence to engage in reasoned discussion to express their feelings.

This person also showed great disrespect and intolerance to a multi-denominational house of worship. It is clear that they have very little respect for anything meaningful.

14. Tell Moveon.org to advertise September anti-war actions
One huge disappointment to me about last night's vigils were the lack of people who knew about the big anti-war demonstrations in September. One big reason this is so is that there hasn't been a word from groups like moveon.org about them. Big vigils happened in places they don't happen, and moveon.org has the power to build off this momentum by getting people to DC or other places on September 23-26.

Please, if you can pressure moveon.org, pressure them to support these actions and get people in the streets.

This is a link above is a video of a story on NECN.

"The anti-war mom taking her case to the President in Crawford, Texas prompted hundreds of support rallies all across the country Wednesday night. Cindy Sheehan has invited President Bush to join her in a prayer vigil Friday. ABC's Stephanie Sy has more."
