Tests Show Treatment Led to Normal Skin Regrowth

An experimental therapy that uses skin cells grown from an aborted fetus successfully healed severe burns in eight children, sparing them the need for skin grafts, according to a study published today.

The treatment led to the regrowth of essentially normal skin on second- and third-degree burns in about two weeks, according to the report by a Swiss research team. The scarring and tissue contraction seen after many burns did not occur, and dressing changes were easier and less painful, the researchers said.

The fetal tissue promotes growth of the patient's own skin cells rather than becoming incorporated into the recipient's skin as a true "graft." Further, it appears that a piece of fetal skin smaller than a postage stamp could be used to produce enough cells to treat hundreds of patients.

"The results were sort of unexpected. . . . These constructs seem to work as a biological Band-Aid, promoting spontaneous healing of the patient," said Patrick Hohlfeld of University Hospital of Lausanne, who was one of the researchers.

3. When I had my

abortion, I learned that the tissue was destroyed, like with the needles. When I applied for my abortion, there was not questions for further "experiments." So now the "removed" tissue is being used for this?? Sorry folks, this is pretty nasty. These women decided to let go of their "problem's" and have the "fetus" removed from of them used for other things?? Does Planned Parenthood have a disclaimer for this???

This is monstrous and against all religion. To think that horribly burned children might benefit from tissue derived from abortion, why it is Satan's work for sure. And the fact that so many (hundreds!) would benefit from such a small amount of tissue only makes it worse. These burned children should realize how important their suffering is to the full working out of God's plan. :sarcasm:

There is a makeup ingredient called TNS that is made from the circumcised foreskins of baby boys. Next time anyone is in the that aisle look for TNS or "human fibroblast conditioned media."

Such miscarriages happen in hospitals, not just at home, although it's more rare. So, I don't give a rat's patooie what the fundies think, if God decides to discharge a fetus from a woman's womb, then use those tissues.

Burns are a horrid tragedy, especially for children. They need all the help they can get.
