Beijing Under Pressure to Tackle Oil Shortages
Beijing under pressure to tackle oil shortages
By Richard McGregor in Beijing
Published: August 17 2005 13:47 | Last updated: August 18 2005 05:30

Rising anger in China over spreading fuel shortages is increasing pressure on Beijing and the local oil majors to devise a new pricing policy to head off future crises over oil supplies to motorists.

The shortages have begun spreading north from Guangdong, in southern China, which has seen the longest petrol queues in recent weeks, to Shanghai, the country's commercial capital, and surrounding Yangtze delta.

Ma Yangbao, the manager of Oriental Dingwang, an independent petrol station in central Shanghai, said supplies from Petrochina, China's largest oil producer, had petered out over the last month to nothing.

“I can't even pay my workers' salaries,” he said, adding that even outlets owned by Petrochina had seen their daily supplies cut by 40 per cent.

1. This China Situation Combined With A Possible Embargo Against.....
the USA from Iran and Venezuela will probably lead to ridiculously high oil prices in the coming weeks. And there is bush, vacationing away while everything around the world is falling apart.

3. Things are really bad when he is NOT on vacation, and they become....
even worse while he is on vacation and shortly after he returns from vacation.

here.

Red Alert for anyone owning a Ford Expedition SUV or a Hummer

A bomb is about to be dropped in the next month. Gas prices will skyrocket, due to extreme pent-up demand in China and India. Better fill up that tank. Make sure your vehicle is paid off.

If it was a recent purchase, you might be upside-down on the vehicle (you owe more than the vehicle is worth).

Put in an ad really quick to beat the stampede that's coming. Sell it for whatever you can.

Come to think of it, if you have a Hummer, just drive it off a cliff.
