Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher has been subpoenaed to appear before a special grand jury investigating personnel practices within his administration.

The attorney general's office says Fletcher has been summoned to appear on August 30.

The Attorney General's office declined to say if Fletcher is required to produce documents at his appearance or provide any other details about the summons.

Fletcher's office has so far declined to comment on the subpoena.

In previous statements, Fletcher declined to say if he would answer questions before the panel or invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
