Gay Bishop Stands Firm
http://www.365gay.com/newscontent/101703robinsonFirm.htm

Despite warnings that his consecration could split the worldwide Anglican Church, Gene Robinson says he will not step down as Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire.

A statement from the diocese says that Robinson will stay in the post and that "his homosexuality is irrelevant."

Robinson is to be formally installed on November 2, setting the stage for a potential schism.

The statement Friday from the New Hampshire diocese said that, "Robinson was elected based on his nearly three decades of ministry in the diocese, his considerable pastoral skills, and his vision for ministry. His sexuality was incidental to his call to serve as our bishop.

1. Thank you Jesus!
I don't want the church to split, but this is a lesson that the world must learn in the first part of this century. By 2050, let's have everyone saying that your sexuality is irrelevant. The question is, what have you done, what are you doing, and what do you hope to do in your job.

If they want to leave just on account of him being elected bishop, LET 'EM GO!!! x(

Maybe we'll see 'em all show up at a Thomas Road Baptist Church service in Lynchburg, Va. (Jerry Falwell's church), in the near future--where they belong!

B-)

4. Bishop
I am so proud of my church for standing strong and solid. We had a similar if not so drastic a confirmation over women. Yhat worked out. If this doesn't, so be it. We are on the side that is right.

7. "Stands firm?"
Is that like "surges in polls?"

Just wondering...
