Iraq deadline looms without deal

The sharing of Iraq's oil revenues is still under discussion
Iraq's deadlocked communities appear no closer to agreeing a new constitution with just hours remaining until the deadline for its completion.

Officials are being forced to discuss a further delay, or even the dramatic option of dissolving parliament.

Shia, Sunni and Kurdish teams have been unable to agree on key issues including federalism, oil and the role of Islam.

....

"If the text is not handed to the national assembly by the deadline, one choice is to task for another one-week extension," the prime minister's spokesman, Leith Kubba, told reporters.
"Or... the national assembly would be dissolved and the government becomes a caretaker government."

1. Am I wrong that if they miss another deadline they are deadlocked and
need to dissolve the effort and vote for a new national assembly? How is Bush going to dig himself out of this one.

I guess he can give them and "extension" and get away with it, though.

2. Whatever happens,
Bush & Co. will report it in some rosy fashion.

3. We're 8 weeks away from the referendum vote, set for October 15...
How many extensions can be reasonably granted before time runs out on the backside of this process?

4. Imagine this headline
September 5, 1787

Philadelphia--The super-secret meeting of delegates at the Constitutional Convention deadlocked again today, despite warnings from His Majesty King George III of Great Britain and His Highness King Louis XVI of France.

:eyes:

5. Very nice Blue.
And guess what happened to that Old Crony, King George? After England lost the revolutionary war, he was basically booted out. He was sent to Northern England, or maybe he was thrown out of the country. (I think)

(I sure like the sound of that)

6. Exactly what Blair and Bush deserve....Booted out....
I't good to dream...they didn't have Karl Rove and "secret negotiations" at the Western White House...where bugging devices have been found out and NOT allowed...unlike our regular "WH" where "spying" is an art developed into a science.

Folks wonder why Bush "entertains" leaders of "Foreign Countries" Mostly at the "Ranch (Pig Farm)." It's because THERE..HE CONTROLS IT ALL. :-(

Gosh, it's too bad that nobody could have predicted this.

Not.
