Venezuela oil company opens China office
http://newsobserver.com/24hour/business/story/2653527p-11158502c.html

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuela's oil company opened an office in China, a client that is becoming increasingly important to this oil-rich country, the state news agency reported Monday.

Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez, who is visiting China, told the Bolivarian News Agency the new office in Beijing would serve as a "bastion for forging relations with new strategic partners."

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has promoted a closer relationship with China, India and other Asian countries in an effort to secure new markets for oil aside from its current No. 1 buyer, the United States.

Chavez has clashed repeatedly with U.S. officials, saying U.S. "imperialism" is a threat to the world and new ways need to be found to move toward socialism and help the poor.

3. It's so hard to support the guy
when he's hurting the US economy. However, I love Chavez, and he's helping HIS country, which is all that we should ask from our leaders. Unfortunately, OUR leaders only help themselves instead of the people!

8. China & India's growth
Has driven up raw materials prices world wide. Most of the increase in crud oil prices, cement prices, steel prices, and just about everything else you can think of is due to economic growth in those two countries.
