Aide Defends Iraq Strategy

WHITE HOUSE (AP) - A top presidential aide says "fighting and winning" is the only course of action in Iraq and the US has a strategy to do that. Dan Bartlett says "cutting and running will make our country less secure."

Bartlett takes issue with Republican Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, who said over the weekend that the US isn't winning the war and it's beginning to look a lot like Vietnam. The presidential aide says "significant progress" has been made in Iraq.

Bartlett is also urging patience in the drafting of a new Iraqi constitution. He says deadlines are important to "focus the process" but also says the US should be flexible enough to allow Iraqis to iron out their differences.

I have as much trouble placing Bartlett in the arcana as I do Hadley.

Is he merely Satan's mouthpiece as it seems in this parrotlike stement? (oh and isn't it a giggle when the help EXACTLY REPEAT the deranged insane statements of the Lunatic in Chief? Really makes me feel secure that we have true leadership in this country--right off a cliff!)

I suppose it will take quite a few news cycles to change "cut and run" into "dignified, timely withdrawal" but these snakes are the vermin to do it! Too bad quite a few faithful will die as they save face.

or just that they have one. "Fighting and winning" just doesn't cut the mustard. :shrug:
