Minister asks US Embassy reason for denying visa to women's affairs delegate

The Venezuelan government has sent an official letter of complaint to the US Embassy in Caracas asking for clarification in its denying a visa to Asia Villegas Poljak to attend a meeting organized by the Organization of American States (OAS) Women's Inter American Commission in Washington.

Hernandez points out that Villegas Poljak has a service passport and is an official delegate to the international conference on women to be held on August 22-24.

The Minister asks whether the denial of the visa indicates a new policy in US diplomacy towards representatives of the Venezuelan government.
