Two planes fly into restricted zone at Bush resort
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050824/us_nm/bush_idaho_plane_dc

DONNELLY, Idaho (Reuters) - In separate incidents, two small planes wandered into restricted air space over the Idaho resort where
President Bush is staying, but he was never in danger, the White House said on Tuesday.

The planes committed a "minor violation of temporary flight restrictions" put in place to protect the president, White House spokesman Trent Duffy told reporters.

Duffy said the planes were directed to land, both pilots were questioned by local law enforcement and Secret Service agents and released.

The FAA would be responsible for any sanctions or license-revocation issues that might arise in connection with the incidents.

2. Really, what a pain in the ass he is...
He's so hated that he has to be totally insulated from the rest of the world.

3. It is so easy to fly into "restricted" airspace. What a shame someone's
nice day out had to be ruined. When you're up there...you can even fly into a major airport's restricted area without realizing. You just turn out of it. But it takes a few seconds. I would imagine, the folks in the planes didn't even know the shit-head was "down there somewhere".

12. right, entering DC airspace makes you stupid
it's well marked on maps and really, pay attention. but a 24 hour thing? how to they advertise that to private aviation? paint a really big 'do not enter' sign?

9. More than you know...they're usually not reported.
As NoSheep said, these things aren't really that rare.

14. I wonder why they get so much play these days then, in contrast.
Why the sudden leap in reporting something common? Pushing the 9/11 button (airplanes where they don't belong)? Implying that Bush himself is under attack?

11. Call me kooky, but these seem like probes, testing the responce time...
either that or we have an awful lot of inexperienced pilots.

Take your pick, both are scary.

13. AOPA.org has a list of these assinine "mobile TFRs"
so the pilots in question should have known better. Dumbasses.
