Rio Group confirms support for Haiti and Chavez
The Foreign and Deputy ministers of the Rio Group kicked off a two-day extraordinary meeting at Bariloche tourist centre in Argentina’s Patagonia, following postponement of the Rio Summit of their presidents.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry said the central topic will be the situation in Haiti, where many member countries have contributed troops to the UN multinational peacekeeping mission

---

One of the first statements from the meeting was in support of Venezuela following US preacher Pat Robertson’s call to kill president Hugo Chavez.

The Group said it expects “legal actions” to be taken against the former US presidential candidate closely linked to the extreme right of the Republican Party who said “US does not need another 200 billion US dollars war to get rid of a violent dictator that is bankrupting his country. It’s much cheaper to send undercover agents to do the job”.

1. I truly hope they mean to do it. Robertson needs to be formally
addressed on his filthy remarks. It won't be forthcoming from his filthy pResident, obviously, who has his lackies indulge in the same hate-speech.

When these scums start getting called on their vicious behavior, they might learn the discipline they apparently missed in their sloppy upbringings by wild-beast, arrogant, narcissistic Republican parents.

Better late than never.

2. Don't hold your breath.
It would be a great day when Pat did the perp walk, though.

3. This ought to make them sweat in Washington.
I have the feeling Washington is having to deal with a lot of "Bad News" and rejection from Central & South America these days.

The days of cherry-picking assets, natural resources and a cheerful hard-working slave population are running out.

The worst of the worst: Hugo Chavez. The problem is his big mouth, according to State department analysts. He's giving the other countries ideas about solidarity, sovereignty, and standing up for themselves. And they seem to be forming alliances.

NOT GOOD.

The worst thing that could possibly happen is that these southern countries band together and form policies. I'm assuming here that their populations are higher than the U.S., so they've got some strength in numbers.

Hard to wrap your mind around, isn't it analysts?

4. they're getting buddy-buddy with BRIC and the SCO, too
BRIC = Brazil, Russia, India, China military alliance
SCO = Shanghai Cooperation Organization, military alliance including China, Russia, almost all the former Soviet Republics, various surrounding Asian states, and India, Iran, and various others are observers.
ISTR there is some kind of South and Central American military alliance building up, too.

IIRC when the SCO said it would retaliate for "another Iraq," they meant they'd retaliate for military assaults on either Iran or Venezuela.

The draft would definitely come back if they step in... and I seriously doubt it'd be feasible to survive the onslaught of the majority of the world's population.
